A message from the owners:
Dear Parent,
We have been in the child care business serving families in the Greater Brookfield area for over 22 years. We are a husband and wife team, living locally in the very community we serve. We are present at the center everyday.
When you visit Kid’s Castle Child Care Leaning Center, you will witness our original vision still in action today: a truly magical place for children of all ages to grow and learn in a fun, safe and nurturing place.
Over the years, we have had the honor of watching children grow from infants into curious, vibrant and social young people ready to take on the world and first grade!
Below on this page we have some frequently asked questions about our day care center, and tips on what to look for as you embark on this journey.
We look forward to meeting you and your child, and serving this wonderful community for many more years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What security features do you utilize to keep my child safe and secure?
We utilize a security system that maintains a locked front door and windows. Only parents, teachers and administrators have access to our building.
May I visit my child anytime during the day?
Absolutely. Feel free to just stop by or give us a call to let us know you are coming.
What does a typical day look like?
Your child will experience an active day filled with ‘learn through play’ activities, free time, quiet time and meal breaks. We balance individual time in play centers with teacher-led group activities. Outdoor play is a daily event, weather permitting.
How will I know what my child has done each day?
For children under age three, we send home a daily activities report prepared by your child’s caretaker/teacher. It will reflect the day’s routine and activities. For infants, we record feedings and naps as well. For preschool age children and older, we provide a weekly report.
Are meals and/or snacks provided?
A healthy mid-morning and afternoon snack and beverage is provided by us. Lunch is sent in with your child.
Will my toddler be toilet trained?
We make every effort to partner with you in this milestone achievement! Every classroom has a bathroom, allowing our teachers to observe, aid and encourage your child’s progress.
Is Kid’s Castle fully licensed and insured according to Connecticut state standards?
Yes. We maintain currency with all required licenses, insurance and policies.

Signs of a Good Child Care Center

We know this is one of your most important decisions, and we want to help you in your decision-making process. Here are a few valuable factors to consider when evaluating your options:
A good reputation.
A great center should be warm and welcoming the minute you walk in the door, and be known for its safe and nurturing environment.
An ‘anytime’ parent visitation policy.
As a parent, you should be openly welcomed and able to visit your child at any time of the day and unannounced. While some centers might respectfully ask for an appointment or schedule, you should also have the freedom and discretion to stop by any time.
A qualified, caring staff.
Caretakers and teachers should be specially trained, should always be prepared and be passionate about what they do.
Clear and established ground rules.
Flexibility is important, but there should also be clear policies regarding operating hours, emergency situations and communication with parents.
A stimulating curriculum and spacious environment.
While individualized development is key, the center should also have specific routines for daily group and individual activities, quiet time, snacks and meals (except for infant day care) and learning approaches. Age appropriate TV and videos can play a part in your child’s development but should not be used more than occasionally.
A clean and safe facility.
The child care center should be organized and sanitary. Common play toys should be sterilized frequently and there should be safety measures in place, including an effective security system.
